As part of the NSW Government's plan to rebuild public education, the NSW Budget is delivering record education funding, including $3.6 billion for new and upgraded schools in Western Sydney. This targeted investment will ensure growing communities get access to a world class public education.

The NSW Department of Education is committed to delivering new and upgraded schools for communities across NSW including the Richmond Agricultural Centre. Co-located at the Western Sydney University Hawkesbury campus, the Richmond Agricultural Centre will be used as a statewide resource delivering world-class agricultural and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education.

Progress summary

Site establishment and early works

Site establishment will start on Friday 14 November 2025 and take 2 weeks to complete.

This work will include:

• setting up temporary fencing around the construction site

• setting up site office sheds and facilities including walkways and builder amenities

• preparing the construction vehicle access off Londonderry Road

• striping topsoil and building a carpark within the site for workers to use during construction

• building a driveway from College Drive into the site.

All construction vehicles will access the site via Londonderry Road. There will be no road or footpath closures during the above work.

Start of Construction

We expect construction to begin in mid December.

Construction activities will include:

• regular deliveries of construction materials through the new site entrance on Londonderry Road

• bulk earthworks, laying foundations, and preparing for concrete pouring, which will start around 14 December 2025.

Traffic controllers will be in place when required to ensure the safety of the community. See the traffic management plan on the next page for details.

Please be aware that some noise and vibration is expected during these works.

Yes. The planning approval pathway for this project is via a Review of Environmental Factors (REF), which assesses the likely impacts of the proposed project. The planning application will be placed on public exhibition in Mid 2025 which will give the community an opportunity to look at the plans and provide feedback. We will be providing more information to the community once the REF is on exhibition.
