Unlocking opportunities: The benefits of becoming an activity partner for the Share Our Space program.

Having the chance to try your hand at a new skill, close to home with expert guidance is a rare and exciting opportunity.  But that is exactly what the Share Our Space free, holiday activities program delivers.

Since 2022 Cricket NSW and the NSW Department of Education have successfully joined together to deliver grassroots cricket skills clinics to thousands of children in over 100 schools across NSW.  And while we haven’t yet unearthed the next Shane Warne or Ellyse Perry, it doesn’t mean there isn’t a young child now passionate about the sport thanks to the free come-and-try days held.

Working together to provide interesting, local activities benefits both schools and activity providers. For the department, Share Our Space activities connect local communities with their local school showcasing the high-quality facilities and offering a glimpse of the student-focused learning.

For activity providers, public schools offer quality school facilities such as ovals, at no cost. Cricket NSW has enjoyed using our great public-school spaces as readily available locations for the free school holiday programs throughout NSW to introduce cricket to whole new generation of community members.

Relationships like the one Cricket NSW has through the Share Our Space program, also strengthen connections between schools, organisations, and local communities, fostering a sense of belonging and social connectedness.  Making participation in Share Our Space a win-win situation for everyone.

Become a Share Our Space activity partner just like Cricket NSW!

“NSW Department of Education and Cricket NSW joined forces to offer free school holiday programs to kids across NSW through the Share Our Space program. Providing the opportunity to utilise fantastic school facilities, ultimately cultivating both physical and social skills. This relationship has been a huge success for all involved”.
