We are on a mission to make things easier for schools and fix their assets quickly. To achieve this goal, we are seeking local tradespeople from across NSW, as well as encouraging Aboriginal businesses and local businesses with Aboriginal employees to work with us from 1 July 2023.

By joining our effort, you'll not only be contributing to the NSW public education system but also positioning your business as a trusted partner in the community.

Over $500 million in contracts

More than $500 million will be spent on local contractors to deliver maintenance services across NSW schools which will:

  • boost local trades and drive economic outcomes in local communities
  • provide better working conditions for local tradespeople, including faster payment terms
  • grow a pipeline of Aboriginal businesses and employees engaged in school facilities maintenance, via the First Nations Engagement in School Infrastructure (FNESI) Program.

Going local

We are moving towards direct management of facilities maintenance, bringing in new facilities maintenance contractors and tradespeople to work directly under contract with us.

Why go local? We want to:

  • be more responsive to maintenance issues reported by schools
  • ensure we are working with local trades and spending our money in our local communities
  • provide better working conditions for local tradespeople, including faster payment terms.

Join us

The department has selected 5 new Facilities Maintenance Contractors (FMC's) to work across the eight school regions. The FMC's are our service partners and will be recruiting on behalf of School Infrastructure NSW to assist us in recruiting local contractors like you. They’ll give you technical support, manage your contract administration and help you get started.

On approval you’ll be setup in our systems and onboarded, with induction covering how to work with us and use our systems. Then start getting work orders allocated within as little as 48 hours!

Submit your interest

You can submit your interest by emailing our School Infrastructure NSW Regional Office Facilities Maintenance Contractor teams below that are in your region. The team can provide more information and the documents needed to apply to work with us.
