NSW Public School’s Asset Review

School Infrastructure has prepared NSW’s 2,200+ public schools to ensure parents, students and staff can feel confident that they will return to COVID-safe settings.

NSW Health advice, along with other expert advice which includes the Doherty Institute and the World Health Organisation, tells us that maximising natural ventilation in our learning spaces is the most effective method for minimising the spread of COVID-19 as it is a very effective way to disperse particles in the air. This can be best achieved by opening doors and windows.

This advice, along with findings from the recent comprehensive review of school assets, has informed our return to school plan, including ventilation and asset use recommendations for each individual school.
