Belmore Boys High School
Belmore Boys is an innovative high school which focuses on education as the primary tool to enable boys as young men, to confidently enter the community and assume roles as active contributors. We believe that boys achieve their full potential when they build positive relationships with each other and their teachers. We believe students thrive when expectations are high; when technology is an integral part of the learning environment and when the learning environment is underpinned by quality teaching and explicit, systematic, literacy developement. Fundamental to quality teaching is an ongoing, rigorous program of professional learning for teaching staff. This program produces teaching and learning which is conducive to high academic achievement and the development of key social skills. The success of our program of school improvement is evidenced by HSC results which lead to a significant proportion of students gaining university entrance. To meet the needs of our academically gifted students we offer enrichment classes in each academic year.
We recognise the Ongoing Custodians of the lands and waterways where we work and live. We pay respect to Elders past and present as ongoing teachers of knowledge, songlines and stories. We strive to ensure every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learner in NSW achieves their potential through education.
