Woolgoolga High School is a dynamic school which believes in offering a broad curriculum enabling students to discover and maximise their potential and encouraging them to accept responsibility for their learning. The achievement of this involves creating and maintaining a positive school climate, conducive to learning, creating a safe, happy, challenging and rewarding environment for students and staff, recognising and rewarding success, challenging gifted and talented students, creating a professional environment which embraces the highest standards of classroom teaching practice having high expectations of students while at the same time, leading them and promoting student and school achievement in the community. Ultimately, our students will leave Woolgoolga as well rounded human beings, with a real sense of responsibility towards others, an appreciation of the value of learning and a sense of satisfaction that they have achieved academically to the best of their ability or beyond. One of the main strengths of Woolgoolga High is the broad range of experiences and support that we offer students. Students are provided with opportunities to excel academically, with students consistently achieveimeng at the highest level in the HSC, as well as in Creative and Performing Arts, sport, public speaking, chess and debating. In 2025 we are establishing a sports academy for elite athletes. There are also a number of specially designed programs in the school to support students. Our Peer Tutor Reading Program is hugely successful in improving students' reading skills while the school was awarded a Director-General's Award for Excellence in Literacy in 2003. A second Director-General's Award was given in 2009 for the school's outstanding Student Welfare Program. In 2004, the school also received a highly prestigious national award for "Excellence in Leadership of Indigenous Education" as a result of our programs supporting Aboriginal students. Woolgoolga High school is a public school to be proud of with a positive culture that celebrates student achievement and supports all students to achieve their best.
