Marrickville High School

Marrickville High School is an inclusive and proud comprehensive public high school with a growing enrolment of over 700 students that includes students in our five class Support Unit, and those students enrolled in our Intensive English Centre (IEC), which provides specialist English language development for recently arrived non-English speaking students. The student population has been steadily increasing over the last five years and is expected to continue to grow in coming years. 57% of students enrolled at the school are from language backgrounds other than English. 19 students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Our professional and enthusiastic staff are committed to providing all students with access to authentic learning experiences support students to Aspire, Connect and Thrive. Educating today's learners, who are tomorrow's leaders, is a responsibility that we take seriously, and which underpins our high expectations culture. Data informed, differentiated classroom practices have been developed and refined in a strong culture of professional learning and collaboration. Students are encouraged to strive for their best and extra and cocurricular programs in creative and performing arts and sport enable students to excel in areas of interest and talent. We are recognised for our focus on continued improvement in collaboration with our aspirational community. In addition, our extensive grounds allow students to pursue a range of extra-curricular activities. The school has strong community partnerships and an active P&C who foster a mutually respectful relationship with the school to support and help inform programs and initiatives.
