Elderslie High School

Elderslie High School is located in the South-Western Sydney Region, drawing students from Elderslie, Camden and surrounding areas. It is a large, comprehensive, co-educational school with a population of approximately 1000 students, including three support classes, autism. Our curriculum strengths and specialist programs include Extension English, Maths and History; Physics; Chemistry; Engineering Studies; Textiles and Design; Legal Studies; Business Studies; Drama; Dance; Public Speaking; Debating; gifted and talented classes and initiatives, annual school musical productions; orchestra; sport and vocational education and training (VET courses offered at the school include Construction, Business Services, Retail, Food and Beverage, Sport Lifestyle & Recreation, Primary Industries). The school's mission is to provide an effective and challenging educational program for all students. There is a strong emphasis on excellence but also recognition of the range of talents and learning needs of students. The school motto and core values are Excellence, Honour and Service. The school strategic directions are achieved by implementing a three year school plan that focuses specifically on the needs of our students and school community. The achievement of annual milestones is supported by ongoing evaluation, assessment and feedback to all members of the school community. The school and individual students have received numerous awards for excellence or outstanding achievement at regional, state and national levels. These include awards in the areas of academic achievement, Minister's Awards for Excellence in Student Achievement, Premiers ANZAC scholarship, engagement and retention, transition to high school, sport, vocational education and training, creative and performing arts (dance, drama and visual arts), technology and applied studies, textiles and design, science, agriculture and volunteering.
