Denison College of Secondary Education, Kelso High Campus
Kelso High is a campus of Denison College of Secondary Education with 65 teaching staff and enrolments of approximately 850 students from Years 7 to 12. A shared curriculum structure between Bathurst High and Kelso High Campuses provides a flexible and differentiated curriculum to students in Years 11 and 12. Indigenous students are supported by a fulltime Aboriginal Education Officer. The campus boasts a strong student welfare structure that encourages students to value learning, goal-setting, self-worth and the rights of others. Strong academic, vocational education, creative and performing arts and language programs are complemented with comprehensive career guidance and extensive extra-curricular activities. The school's strong technological focus, especially in the area of digital and web2 technologies, prepares students for life in the 21st century. Student achievement is enhanced through targeted literacy and numeracy programs. Leadership opportunities are provided through the Senior Student Leadership Team and Student Representative Council, which ensure valued student participation in whole-school programs, and a supportive and dedicated Parents and Citizens' Committee works harmoniously and productively with the school. Qualified staff coordinate and support learning assistance programs that cater for students with special needs.
