Eden Marine High School
Eden Marine High School is a comprehensive co-educational school serving communities on the far south coast of New South Wales. It is the southernmost high school in the state and experiences a significant level of geographic isolation. The school's mission is to support all students to reach their potential. We have a comprehensive student welfare program which has the core values of respect, responsibility and resilience. Each year cohort is supported by a year adviser and a head teacher to ensure that the learning needs of each student are identified and addressed. The school has been recognised as a Centre for Excellence as a result of its strong culture of academic success, quality marine education programs and comprehensive range of vocational education and training programs. The school is a designated Trade Training Centre and has the capacity to offer Metals and Engineering, Boat Building and Boat Repair in collaboration with TAFE. Eden Marine High School has a strong focus on the use of technology to support teaching and learning. Classrooms are installed with short throw digital projectors and speakers with internet access. The curriculum is being developed to allow delivery through a web based platform that allows students to access teaching and learning materials through the internet. Eden Marine High School has a long history of sporting success and is developing a substantial profile in the community across the creative and performing arts. The school has developed a number of community, education and business partnerships to support the delivery of a range of programs including Aboriginal education, student transition, student welfare, curriculum sharing, teacher professional learning and action research projects. Eden Marine High School is a proud partner of the Sapphire Coast Learning Community, consisting of two high schools, fourteen primary schools and an environmental education centre, which collaborate to deliver quality teaching and learning across the continuum from kindergarten to Year 12.
