Galston High School

Galston High School is a comprehensive, co-educational community school which seeks to provide a challenging, quality curriculum within a caring and safe environment. The school is located in a rural area of Sydney's north in a nine hectare bushland setting and is served by bus transport. Student intake comes from thirty primary schools scattered throughout the local government shires of Hornsby, Baulkham Hills and Hawkesbury. To improve the transition of students from primary school to our school we have created a community approach with nine primary schools. We have called this community approach the 'Galston Community of Schools'. The local community prides itself on Galston High's continued ability to maintain an extremely high profile in academic, sporting and cultural achievement. As part of our Positive Behaviour Engaging Learners (PLEL) program we promote the core values of Respect, Responsibility and Personal Best. The school's excellent performance in the HSC is testimony to the high standards of learning and culture of academic achievement. We also offer a range of vocational courses for students. In addition to our fine academic tradition the school offers a range of co-curricular activities including an equestrian team, a pipes and drums band, a junior concert band, bi-annual stage musicals and a wide range of competitive sports.
