Narromine High School is proud of its reputation for providing students with a rigorous and challenging curriculum. The school has served the Narromine community for over one hundred years. The school acknowledges the Wiradjuri people, the traditional custodians of the land our school is situated upon. Known for our strong academic focus, vocational education is another strength of the school. Students are annually accepted into universities, traineeships and apprenticeships of their choice. Our HSC results show significant value adding in student learning outcomes. A highly qualified and dedicated staff ensures student learning is tailored to suit individual needs. The school has a strong platform for supporting all students to grow in the key capabilities of literacy and numeracy.  Our NAPLAN results reflect strong student growth in literacy and numeracy between Years 7 and 9. VALID testing in science is another area of success for our school. Our core values of respect, responsibility and care. These values are a platform for Positive Behaviour for Learning, are embedded into all aspects of school life. A wide range of extra curricula activities is offered. A vibrant Student Representative Council and Junior AECG provide ongoing leadership opportunities for students from Years 7 to 12. The school is proud of its links with the community, participating in service club programs and local council projects. The school's cattle and sheep show teams have an outstanding record of success at interstate, state and regional agricultural shows. Narromine High students also have opportunities in the creative and performing arts. Students are encouraged to enter public speaking competitions and to learn the art of debating. We have a long tradition of producing national and international sporting champions. On the playing field there is a strong emphasis on sportsmanship and teamwork. The school is set on 5 hectares of well maintained grounds and sporting fields. Students enjoy modern facilities including a newly built language centre, refurbished science laboratories and well equipped technology centres. Our trade training centres provides industry standard facilities for construction, metal technology and hospitality. A connected classroom enables teachers to link students through video conferencing with learning opportunities from national and international sites.
