Canley Vale High School

Canley Vale High School is located in South Western Sydney Region and serves a highly disadvantaged community. The school receives both Priority School Funding and Priority Action Schools funding due to its low socio-economic status. Ninety five percent of the students, primarily from Vietnam and China, have a language background other than English. Canley Vale attracts a large number of international students each year and has a sister school in Vietnam. The school has a growing population base with school numbers rising dramatically from 785 in 2003 to nearly 1200 in 2010. In 2011 enrolments will rise well above 1200. Canley Vale High School is committed to developing students to their fullest intellectual and social potential. We strive to provide students with academic and co-curricular programs that challenge them to produce their best work. We are committed to providing students with the necessary support to meet these high standards. Canley Vale High School challenges students to take responsibility for their learning and to become lifelong learners and literate, caring and effective world citizens.
