West Wyalong High School
At West Wyalong High School, there is a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that inspires students to become motivated and successful learners, with a strong emphasis on both academic and social development. Every student and teacher is encouraged to pursue continuous improvement each year. In the pursuit of excellence and in preparing students for future educational, training, and vocational pathways, the focus remains on personalising learning experiences and enhancing positive relationships among students, staff, parents/carers, and the wider community. By collaboratively analysing data and implementing targeted interventions, robust foundations in literacy and numeracy are built while setting high aspirations for all students. Special school programs exist to cater for the divergent needs of students. The school has strong welfare systems to develop in students: self and social awareness, self-management and responsible decision making by providing opportunities for all students to realise their potential in academic, sporting and cultural pursuits. Strong connections with partner primary schools are maintained through mentoring programs, School Based Traineeships and a Year 6 transition program. The senior high school curriculum caters for the diverse needs of students and includes vocational education, featuring areas such as Construction, Hospitality, Primary Industries, and Manufacturing and Engineering.
