Westfields Sports High School
Westfields Sports is Australia's first Sports High School and is located in Fairfield West. Our school is committed to providing each student with the educational opportunities and quality resources essential for the achievement of personal excellence in scholarship, citizenship, sport and the arts. Westfields Sports provides a full comprehensive education for local area students and provides talented local, national and international sports students with the opportunities to pursue their sporting dreams whilst gaining a high quality education. Westfields Sports has a proud academic tradition and provides highly successful acceleration courses in English, Mathematics and Science. Our school has enjoyed repeated success in the HSC with many students achieving excellent results across a range of subjects. The 2023 HSC dux achieved a remarkable ATAR of 98.25. As well as a continual focus on literacy and numeracy, Westfields Sports has differentiation and explicit teaching for all students as major targets for 2024. Our school embraces the role of technology in learning and is progressively installing interactive technology in all classrooms. Flexible timetabling, a comprehensive curriculum, the Westfields student welfare model and outstanding sports programs have attracted ongoing national and international interest and recognition. Westfields Sports is the holder of the prestigious International Olympic Committee's 'Sport and Youth Trophy' which formally recognises the contribution that our school has made to sport in Australia and internationally. The school is also recognised as an official 'Olympic Pathways School.' The student welfare program is based on the recognition and reward of student effort, excellence and service and aims to 'catch them being good'. Westfields Sports is a very special school community.
