Bankstown Senior College
Bankstown Senior College is situated 24 km south west of the centre of Sydney and a short distance from Bankstown Station. It was established in 1991 to provide senior secondary education for students aged fifteen years of age or older. The College is one of only four stand alone senior high schools in the NSW public education system. We cater for students of all ages and abilities. Over ninety per cent of our students come from a background speaking a language other than English and represent over forty different countries. The College specialises in supporting students who are re- entry, both mature age and young adults, including those who have had interrupted formal education, those at risk of not completing formal education, ESL learners (including new arrivals) needing intensive English support,and students with part time education and work commitments. The College provides the following courses:Preliminary and Higher School Certificate Certificate II in General and Vocational Education (CGVE) - equivalent to Year 10 School Certificate, Intensive English Classes (IEC, )Certificate in Spoken and Written English (CSWE) and Preparation courses for Year 10 and the Higher School Certificates.
