Our school motto is Be The Best You Can Be. We believe in excellence in academic achievement, excellence in citizenship and student leadership and excellence in parent and community partnerships. Mount Annan High School is passionate about teaching and learning and developing the considerable talents of our young people. We believe in the importance of teaching community values, promoting citizenship and aspiring to be the best we can be. We offer a wide range of academic, cultural, sporting and citizenship opportunities. Our strong academic program provides a full range of subjects from Year 7 through to Year 12. Students have strong competitive results in external examinations and the students'? average academic growth over time is regularly above state averages. The school provides additional help to students with special learning needs, with individual support and targeted programs and resources. We also focus on developing talented and gifted students through individual learning plans, a higher order curriculum and enrichment. Students participate in a wide range of local, state and national competitions and programs that promote academic excellence in areas such as English, Mathematics, Science, debating and creative thinking. The school has a strong performing arts program that includes school theatrical productions and special drama, music and art events. In sports, students have the choice of a full range of sporting opportunities. There is a strong focus on both participation and developing talent. We also offer programs in student citizenship and leadership. Our welfare programs focus on developing positive peer relationships. An active parent community supports our school. The Parent and Citizens Association contributes to school decision-making and provides funds for additional resources and programs. The school appreciates and values the importance of the partnership between home and school and actively promotes programs that develop this relationship.
