Wyndham College
Wyndham College is a comprehensive Senior High School operating within the Nirimba Collegiate group of schools. The College draws students from the 7 to 12 schools within the Collegiate - Quakers Hill High School, Riverstone High School and Seven Hills High School. The College is situated on the Nirimba Education Precinct co-located with Western Sydney University (Nirimba) , Western Sydney Institute of TAFE-Nirimba and St John Paul 11 Catholic College Senior Campus. The College provides a broad range of academic and vocational subject for students with a range of learning experiences. Students have the opportunity to access over 50 different courses offered by the College. Wyndham College was opened in 1999, and had its first HSC cohort in 2000. The school possesses a wonderful tradition of high achievement, high standards and high expectations. Students regularly feature in the HSC honour lists. Since its establishment the college has regularly had students nominated and selected for ArtExpress, Callback, Viva Voce and On-stage. Students have been selected regularly for Schools Spectacular, Synergy and Pulse- a performing arts production showcased at the Opera House. Wyndham College is a large senior college with over 750 students in 2 years, 65 teaching staff and 15 support staff. We are a uniform college. The college boasts an enthusiastic, committed staff whose qualifications, experiences, expertise and achievements ensure they deliver a quality classroom product every day. There is a strong focus on student engagement and quality teaching at the college. The College has embedded a strong wellbeing program that supports all students to reach their potential.The College proudly boasts state of the art technology, learning spaces and facilities that are future focused and support the learning of young adults.The college provides an ordered, inspiring atmosphere where young adults have their well being, academic, cultural and sporting achievements embraced, celebrated and delivered. The college has recently opened a new learning space, which encompasses a cafeteria. The College follows the principles of andragogy and offers several pathway options for senior students including: a Platinum club for aspirational and gifted and talented students, a Trade school, an Accelerated program and a Re-connect course for under 17 students who have disengaged from school. Students are able to access many TAFE courses that are available on the Precinct. Students also have the ability to undertake a university course whilst in year 11. Students who attain a distinction or high distinction in their university course are guaranteed a university placement plus scholarship, post HSC. The College owns and operates a cafe and function centre on site. Students experience first hand the hospitality industry. Work placement occurs at the school owned cafe-Tradewynds. Our vision at Wyndham College is to widen horizons. We aim to help develop young adults to value learning and to assist them to make informed choices about their future.
