Sefton High School
Sefton High School was established in 1961. Our vision is Excellence in Education for all of our students. Each year, half of Year 7 are selected on the basis of academic performance as determined by the DET Selective Schools Unit's testing. Students come from diverse backgrounds. The school has an excellent reputation for academic achievement and for student achievement in a broad range of areas. Opportunities range from academic to vocational, sporting, cultural and citizenship areas to extend student abilities and develop positive attitudes and values. Sefton High School is committed to maintaining a safe, disciplined and challenging learning environment in which the school culture focuses on high expectations of personal integrity, respect, responsibility, cooperation and work ethic. In this learning environment and culture students are nurtured and guided to commit themselves to achieving their personal best, enabling them to make a positive contribution to Australian society as they pursue fulfilling lives as responsible, tolerant and compassionate citizens. The school strives to foster competent, confident, healthy, and productive citizens by promoting active involvement in learning and an interest in this as a lifelong process. The school endeavours to imbue students with the core values of Public Schools and the school's motto, Sincerity, Scholarship and Service.
