Bankstown Girls High School
Bankstown Girls High School has an enrolment of approximately 540 students including 98% from language backgrounds other than English. The school community provides a rich, diverse learning environment that values individuality, difference, compassion, tolerance and respect. The school has been recognised within the region and at a state level for its innovative curriculum and pedagogy projects. Our school mission is founded on the belief that all students should leave school empowered as competent, independent, caring life long learners and global citizens. We believe that academic, social knowledge and skills are essential to achieving academic success and future well-being. Our school plan targets literacy, numeracy, creative and critical thinking, ICT skills development, knowledge transfer, student engagement and retention and teacher professional learning which recognises the dynamic nature of the world. Our programs and structures are informed by annual evaluations and academic data, as well as parent, student and teacher feedback which is reported in our student academic reports, student newspaper and our Annual Report.
