Kurri Kurri High School
Kurri Kurri High School was established in 1956. It is a comprehensive, co-educational public school serving the local community. The school curriculum, welfare and sporting program is delivered by 58 teaching staff and offers excellent options for our enrolment of approximately 800 students from Year 7 to Year 12. The core values of our school are reflected in the school motto 'Making the Best of Ourselves.' Kurri Kurri High School has a whole-school program of support for student learning using technology, has established strong links with local business through the Adopt a School Program and ensures collaborative decision making through membership on school planning teams. Six priority areas form the focus of school programs: to maximise student outcomes in literacy and numeracy, to improve student engagement and retention, to improve outcomes for Aboriginal students, to increase the use of connected learning to support curriculum delivery and to enhance teacher quality. Together with our partner schools of Kurri Kurri Public, Weston Public, Pelaw Main Public, Mulbring Public and Stanford Merthyr Infants we form a united relationship through the Kurri Kurri Learning Community.
