Daceyville Public School

Daceyville Public School is a community centred public school serving a diverse area of East Sydney. There is a current enrolment of approximately 280 students, including approximately 65% of students from a language background other than English. The school has a strong commitment to providing students with rigorous, meaningful and future-focused learning programs that enable all students to maximise their potential. We work in partnership with families and community organisations to provide students with authentic contexts for the learning and the opportunity to see the impact of learning beyond the classroom. The school has three core values: Respect; Safety and Lifelong Learning; that underpin all aspects of programs and practices. Highly skilled teachers work collaboratively to design rich programs of learning. The school has an extensive creative and performing arts program which is highly valued by the school community, including a school Band Program, dance groups, choir, drumming club and art club. A range of opportunities are provided for students to participate in performances, competitions and activities in the local area and beyond. The school community is committed to engaging students in environmental learning programs and collaborate to enhance the school environment through shared projects and activities. This includes the bush tucker garden, frog pond, composting area, chicken coop and outdoor learning areas. Our Wellbeing processes ensure that all members of the wider school community are supported effectively so that students are able to focus on learning and make the most of their time at school. Daceyville is proud to represent the values of public education by providing a supportive, nurturing and rich learning environment for the local community.
