Lomandra School
Lomandra School has been in operation since May 1998 and is located in Beverley Road, Campbelltown. Lomandra School caters for approximately 50 students, ten to fifteen years of age (Stages 3-5) with severe disruptive behaviours. Students are placed at Lomandra via a regional selection process. Students work towards achieving goals set through Individual Education Plans. The school provides a supportive, caring environment where students are encouraged to make responsible educational, social and behavioural choices. The structured behaviour program is designed to support individuals in developing knowledge and skills which will enable them to move into settings appropriate to their educational, behavioural and social needs. These skills enable students to function more effectively in school, in the home and in the community. In the context of the school, the quality teaching ethos embraces real life activity-based approaches and responsibility-taking as well as technology in all key learning areas. For most of the students there is a strong focus on integration and Lomandra works with the home schools to support this.
