Illawarra Environmental Education Centre
The Centre is now located at Killalea State Park, 90 km south of Sydney, between Shellharbour and Kiama. Centre staff conduct educational excursions K to 12, with widely acclaimed Biology, Geography, HSIE K to 6 and Science and Technology K to 6 programs. Other services include presentation of environmental workshops in schools, development of teaching resources, training and development courses for teachers and collaboration with other organisations to further environmental education in public schools.Our new facilities include a large discovery classroom, environmental reference library and overnight accommodation in either tents or bunkhouse.The natural heritage of Killalea State Park encompasses subtropical and littoral rainforest, mangroves, river estuary, lagoon, sandy beaches, rocky shores and open grassland.
