Kalinda School
Kalinda School for Specific Purposes caters for students aged 4 to 19 who have an intellectual or physical disability in either the moderate or severe range, as well as students with Autism. The school focuses on the individual needs of the students, expressed through Personalised Learning and Support Plans, containing carefully selected and clearly defined educational priorities. Community support is high with financial support always forthcoming for maintaining and obtaining up-to-date and specific resources to meet the changing needs of students. Over the past ten years the school has expanded its facilities to include a hydrotherapy spa, a multisensory room and kitchen. The school's vision statement says 'Kalinda School is committed to empowering and challenging students through inclusive, innovative, stimulating and personalised learning where students achieve their full potential as valued and productive citizens within society'.
We recognise the Ongoing Custodians of the lands and waterways where we work and live. We pay respect to Elders past and present as ongoing teachers of knowledge, songlines and stories. We strive to ensure every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learner in NSW achieves their potential through education.
