Bournda Environmental Education Centre

Bournda Environmental Education Centre is part of the NSW DET network of environmental centres, provided to support schools with syllabus outcomes that include mandatory fieldwork, environmental education, outdoor learning and student wellbeing. Bournda EEC is a centre of excellence for environmental and sustainability education helping students to become environmentally literate citizens. Bournda EEC is located in Bournda National Park, an ideal setting for the delivery of environmental education programs. We have a supportive network of schools who value our programs and our expertise. Situated on the Far South Coast, within an economically depressed area, we offer a safe, low-cost excursion experience for schools. Bournda EEC has a strong focus on student equity with inclusive programs. Education for sustainability is central to our activities and activities include waste education activities and school sustainability audits.  We support schools to develop in students the skills, knowledge, understanding and attitudes needed to improve the school environment, address local environmental issues, form sound judgements on global environmental issues and participate actively as global citizens in protecting the environment.
