Wewak Street School
Wewak Street School is committed to providing quality education for students with an intellectual disability. Our aim is to provide a caring and secure environment where students with moderate and high-support needs are challenged to achieve their potential, assist students to achieve maximum independence in community living, ensure that the needs of students are addressed through individual program planning, support students in the transition from school to post-school placements, and assist parents in making decisions about the most appropriate educational setting for their child. Wewak Street School is located in the residential area of North Albury. The school is surrounded by well-maintained grounds, gardens and extensive play areas including a basketball court and bike track. Wewak Street School's excellent facilities include spacious classrooms, a multi-sensory room, sensory garden, vocational skills unit, kitchen, library, indoor spa, outdoor pool and hall. The school also has two buses that enable students to access community venues.
We recognise the Ongoing Custodians of the lands and waterways where we work and live. We pay respect to Elders past and present as ongoing teachers of knowledge, songlines and stories. We strive to ensure every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learner in NSW achieves their potential through education.
