Cook School
Cook School was established in 2002 and relocated to its present site in 2007. The school originally was set up with three classes for students from Years Five to Ten with behaviour difficulties. Two additional classes and an outreach program for students, Kindergarten to Year 6, diagnosed with with a mental health issues, commenced operation in 2008. A sophisticated approach to the management of challenging behaviours incorporates the 'You Can Do It Program' which is used across the school to promote resilience, social competencies and engagement with the curriculum. Individualised Learning Plans for reintegration of students into their local schools are augmented by multi-agency support of students and their families and the school has established excellent connections with TAFE and local agencies specialising in assistance with job seeking.
