Glenfield Park School

Glenfield Park School (GPS) caters for 56 students, Kindergarten to Year 12, who have been diagnosed with an emotional disturbance (ED) and/or a mild intellectual disorder (IM).  Students are referred to GPS by their current school to address their social and behavioural needs, and placements are determined by a regional panel. Glenfield Park School has a strong focus on the development of social skills and positive behaviour. The academic emphasis is on literacy and numeracy, with a wide range of extra-curricular activities. There are five classes in the primary program and two in the secondary program. Classes are made up of eight students, with a teacher and a School Learning Support Officer assigned. Each student has an Adjusted Learning Support Plan developed in consultation with the student, teachers, parents and carers. Students in the primary program work on re-integration to mainstream schools. The senior program is a Life Skill Certificate or ROSA and a school to work program and connection to TAFE and/ or work placement.
