Stanford Merthyr Infants School
Stanford Merthyr Infants School is situated in a residential community of Kurri Kurri in a lovely bushland setting which offers interesting play and outdoor environmental study opportunities. The school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 2 in a small and caring environment. Stanford Merthyr Infants School places students at the forefront of everything we do. Our school works as a team with our community to set high expectations and promote a learning environment that inspires children to reach their full potential and become lifelong learners. We aim to foster children who are creative thinkers, questioners and problem solvers. Our vision is consistent with the Melbourne declaration. It is about equity: we are all valued for what we bring and where we show care and compassion, respect, understanding, tolerance and inclusiveness. Our collective goal is that every child reaches their potential academically, socially and personally. Our curriculum recognises the learning experiences needed for all children. In our learning community, all students and their families are valued and each has a voice. This is summarised in our vision statement which is “Working together, making a difference with every child.” We work closely with Kurri Kurri High, Pelaw Main Public, Kurri Kurri Public, Weston Public and Mulbring Public Schools as the Kurri Kurri Learning Community. Stanford Merthyr Infants School offers comprehensive and stimulating programs to ensure all students have the best possible preparation for future education. The students' academic, social and emotional needs are integral components of the sound early learning programs offered by the school, with a strong focus on English and Mathematics as well as Science and Technology, History and Geography, Creative Arts, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, and Multicultural and Aboriginal Education.
