Welcome to Galungara Public School Opened in 2021, Galungara Public School is a vibrant and inclusive learning community designed for contemporary education. Our flexible learning spaces and technology-rich environments support creativity, critical thinking, and deep inquiry. Proudly serving a diverse K–6 community, inclusion is central to our approach. With students from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, and dedicated support classes for students with disability all learning is undertaken in a supportive and respectful environment. Our vision focuses on strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, a whole-child approach to learning and wellbeing, and fostering student agency through voice and choice. Guided by our motto Inspire. Create. Flourish., we empower students to become confident, capable learners. High-quality, evidence-informed teaching ensures all students experience growth and success. Staff work collaboratively to deliver engaging, differentiated learning, supported by ongoing professional learning and the effective use of data. Wellbeing is embedded across the school through positive relationships, clear expectations, and consistent support. Strong partnerships with families and the community enhance learning and ensure Galungara Public School remains a dynamic, future-focused place where every student can thrive.

New school: Galungara Public School - stage 1 upgrade completed project

We have delivered a new school on Farmland Drive in Schofields to support the growing Alex Avenue community. The new primary school was operational on Day 1 Term 1 2021. Visit Galungara Public School’s website here. The new school can accommodate 500 students and cater for up to 1,000 students in the future. A project is now underway to deliver Galungara Public School - stage 2. As more than 12 months have passed since the start of operations for this project, all state significant development (SSD) reports have been archived.

Upgrade: Galungara Public School - stage 2

As part of the NSW Government's plan to rebuild public education, the NSW Budget is delivering $4.1 billion for new and upgraded schools in Western Sydney. This targeted investment will ensure growing communities get access to a world class public education. Stage 2 of Galungara Public School is supporting the growing population of the North West Growth Area. An additional 20 learning spaces and a Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA) which form part of the Stage 2 work at Galungara Public School has been operational since the beginning of Term 1, 2023. Maintenance

To ensure the safety, reliability and longevity of our schools, every school across NSW receives maintenance. The Department undertakes preventative and routine maintenance every year, and repairs as needed. The Department also reviews the planned maintenance program for each school every year and reviews those items that are predicted to require work to help prolong the life of the school buildings and facilities.

Demountables

Demountables have been part of the NSW education system for many decades and will continue to be used across the state. Demountable classrooms are modern, air-conditioned rooms that provide students and teaching staff with excellent quality facilities. The learning spaces have the same range of technology that is available in permanent spaces. We review school accommodation needs each year, looking at changing enrolment patterns and other factors to prepare for the upcoming school year. This helps to identify schools that need new demountables and schools where they can removed. Most demountable movement takes place between October and February and we report our annual demountable statistics each April. Additional demountable installations can occur outside this window to support capital works and maintenance projects in schools or emergency responses to natural disasters.
