Greenway Park Public School

The Greenway Park Public School community (enrolment around 820) values a comprehensive education for all students. Our motto, Learning for Life, is evident in all we do. Our quest for continual improvement is emphasised in our six key directional statements: Learning is comprehensive, innovative and personalised; Students are resilient, motivated and successful; Teachers are professional, progressive and accountable; Parents are informed, advocates and partners; Resources are accessible, modern and appropriate; and Management is strategic, consultative and clear. The regionally awarded student leadership initiative, including School Parliament, demonstrates ongoing successful engagement in school life by all classes. Targeted classroom placement for students is a high priority at all stages of learning. Quality teaching, consistent teacher judgement in assessment, syllabus expertise and legal accountability are common themes in the school planning cycle. The ability to effectively work as members of a team to meet learning challenges within a complex school structure will be a focus for the 2015-2017 planning process. Significant recent investment in the purchase and effective use of modern technology, including interactive whiteboards in all classes, is now reflected in student learning across the whole school. We are recognised for excellence in technological innovation, debating and public speaking as well as the performing arts and sporting endeavours. Opportunities for engagement in diverse enrichment initiatives are increasingly evident. Quality student welfare is paramount at our school. From an early age, students are encouraged to become responsible for their own actions and support our four core school rules. These rules, Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Fair and Be Cooperative, are strongly supported by parents, staff and students. We regularly acknowledge the achievement and effort of all students through a comprehensive recognition program which is highly regarded in our community. Future initiatives acknowledge our country's future engagement in the Asia Pacific region. Further areas of emphasis include physical health, fitness and student wellbeing. Our school is proudly ready to educate students entering a challenging twenty-first century.
