Vincentia Public School
Vincentia Public School has an enrolment of around 260 students. Located near beautiful Jervis Bay, the school serves the villages of Vincentia, Hyams Beach, Wrights Beach, Erowal Bay and Old Erowal Bay. Surrounded by native bush, the school strongly emphasises environmental education and awareness. The school exists to provide a supportive, caring environment in which all students are guided to reach their full potential through partnership with the school and community. Vincentia is a school community with a friendly and welcoming environment where children feel safe and secure. We are committed to providing positive wellbeing programs, a balanced curriculum, strong technology programs, professional support for staff and pride in the care of the school and community. Our motto 'Strength from Knowledge' reflects the above. All Key Learning Areas have been designed to meet current learning standards. We meet the needs of the children at Vincentia Public School by providing them with balanced programs for their intellectual, social, physical and emotional development. All students are encouraged to participate in NAPLAN testing to give a high participation rate. We are a part of the Bay and Basin Learning Community of schools, joining with our partner schools for some sporting, debating and public speaking competitions. Vincentia PS offers an active Student Representative Council. Our students are encouraged to enjoy a healthy lifestyle through regular physical exercise. School carnivals involve students in major in-school and inter-school swimming, cross country and athletics competitions. Selection trials for a wide range of sports are available for talented students. The Parents and Citizens Association provides the school community with social involvement and service opportunities. Without the support of the P and C, the school would not have many opportunities for the students.
