William Dean Public School

William Dean Public School is situated in Western Sydney and serves primarily students from the Dean Park area and the newly established suburb of Colebee. The school has approximately 315 students. The staff at William Dean Public School has the responsibility to educate the citizens of tomorrow as lifelong learners in a spirit of co-operation with the community. Our school motto is 'Learning Together' which underpins all we do academically and socially. We are safe, respectful learners. At William Dean Public School we are committed to supporting students to achieve academic excellence and we encourage acceptance and harmony. We are inclusive of the whole school community in the preparation of our students for responsible, active citizenship. William Dean Public School has a commitment to the development of strong literacy and numeracy programs. We cater for the needs of all students providing both support and extension programs. We have trained English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) and Learning and Support teachers who implement a sequential supportive program for identified students. Technology is a vital component of our curriculum from Kindergarten to Year 6 and is integrated into all subjects. The students have access to a wide range of technology devices, wireless internet connectivity and connected classroom learning environments. All classrooms have an interactive whiteboard which allows for an engaging interactive learning environment.  The school prides itself in providing opportunities aimed at developing strong communication skills, leadership and self-confidence of all our students. We have excellent sporting facilities, large open areas for play, including a covered multi-purpose outdoor basketball court, purpose built play equipment, expansive ovals and a large hall and performance area.
