Blackwell Public School
Blackwell Public School has a commitment to providing a safe and challenging environment where quality teaching and curricula result in an acceptance of responsibility for both learning and personal behaviour, with high student outcomes. We expect our students to demonstarte good manners, good thinking and good learning in all situations and at all times. We also place emphasis on our core virtues of tolerance, self discipline, honesty, kindness, respect, patience and responsibility. These virtues form the core of our student welfare structures. Our primary focus is learning and we believe that these virtues influence how students learn, the way they learn aand what they learn. Parent participation continues to grow and is demonstrated through active support of school iniatatives such as our parent volunteers, fundraising committees and our strong P&C membership. Our school has a focus on literacy and numeracy with the aim being to ensure the best outcomes for all students. Science and technology also provide opportunities for knowledge and skill growth, and the creative and performing arts offer opportunities for all students in dance, choir and drama. Sport and fitness programs are provided for all grades and personal development, health, leadership and student welfare programs complete a comprehensive program designed to develop the whole child. Blackwell school is also an active member of a wider local learning community STEPS -St Clair Erskine Park Schools -which involves both local high schools as well as the four other local primary schools in the St Clair area. Our motto is 'Making an Impression' -one which Blackwell constantly strives to meet.
