The school was established in 1984 and boasts a visually pleasant, happy and safe environment with modern, well-appointed classrooms and buildings conducive to effective learning and teaching. Recent Commonwealth Government expenditure under the BER program has added additional classroom facilities. The school is well serviced by a large assembly hall and an excellent library. Our motto, Ever Shining, is a good indicator of our happy and positive student body. Our students are well known for their eagerness to learn, good manners and friendly disposition. Our current enrolment is 560 students in twenty two classes. Our school strives to ensure up to date teaching resources and programs provides students with excellent learning opportunities. Recent expenditure in the provision of technology has ensured the school has two up to date computer laboratories, internet access in every classroom and since 2010 an electronic whiteboard in every classroom. The school recognises the importance of technology and learning links and teachers have undertaken recent professional development to maximise student learning with the assistance of technology. Bangor Primary School has a deservedly high reputation in the wider community. This reputation is based on successful learning programs and a wide range of opportunities for students to be involved in a range of academic, sporting and cultural pursuits. We seek to support all students in their mastery of literacy and numeracy. In addition there are many opportunities and programs to engage students. An extensive sporting and physical education program across the school ensures students have access to programs to improve skills, health and fitness. The school acknowledges the importance of offering a varied program to engage students. Bangor Primary School has a well deserved reputation for its extensive arts program. The school has a long tradition of excellence in dance. There are many dance groups (including boys' groups) operating on a weekly basis in the school, culminating in performance opportunities at school, district and regional level. Three successful band programs also operate. The staff at Bangor Primary School is committed to proving excellent teaching and learning programs as well as ensuring students are given many additional opportunities. Strong programs and systems of student support and welfare greatly contribute to the positive tone in the school to achieve the school's mission ... to develop and enhance each child's potential in a supportive, caring and secure environment.
