Hampden Park Public School

Hampden Park Public School strives for excellence and equity. We aim to empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve their full potential. We recognise children as individuals, catering for their needs and talents and fostering tolerance, integrity and inter-racial harmony in our culturally diverse community. We provide a happy, secure and stimulating environment which welcomes the interaction of teachers, parents and the community. Hampden Park Public School, established in 1979, is a large public primary school with approximately 725 students. The school provides excellent education for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our collaboratively determined values of respect, responsibility, care, honesty and cooperation also inform whole school development. Our student cohort represents over 40 language groups, with 98.5% of students coming from non-English-speaking backgrounds. A significantly high percentage of our Early Stage 1 students begin school as beginning English language learners and there is a high mobility percentage amongst our families. We have a strong, integrated, ICT-rich, hands-on and differentiated curriculum underpinned by vigorous implementation of the teaching and learning cycle through our Learning Support Student Success. Curriculum implementation in the six Key Learning Areas is informed by the Quality Teaching Framework. We offer Arabic, Bengali, Urdu and Indonesian Community Language programs. Our learning together philosophy is enhanced by our 'Out of the Box' extra-curricular program, which promotes equity for all students in terms of access to high quality curriculum enrichment opportunities. This is enhanced by our S.O.L.E (Self Organised Learning Environments) across all grades. An outstanding leadership team and dedicated, caring staff hold high expectations and aspirations for the achievement of every student and we are working together closely with parents and the general community to enhance our ties with thesde groups and improve studnet outcomes. Strong transition programs support preschool-primary shared understandings and endorse our local high schools as the preferred destinations for students as they gradutate from primary school. Hampden Park Public School is a great place to be educated.
