St Andrews Public School is committed to providing high quality Public Education within the context of strong discipline. We believe that quality education results from quality teaching and that each member of staff is crucial in ensuring 'the very best' for our students. The school hosts a class for students who are gifted and talented. Students gain access to this class through the Selective Schools Unit. The school also hosts five classes for students with physical and intellectual disabilities. Students gain access to the classes through the Disabilities Unit. All students in Years 3 and 5, including students with intellectual disabilities, sit the NAPLAN Tests. Forty-one per cent of our students come from language backgrounds other than English. Thirty-two different languages are spoken. The school acknowledges the traditional owners and custodians of the land where student's learning takes place. Our community of schools fosters a partnership in the development of a rigorous K-12 learning continuum that is based on quality teaching practices and a common language. This partnership ensures smooth transition points from Early Stage One through to Stage 6. Connected learning facilities and interactive technologies are utilised throughout the school to enhance learning and support and the integration of technology across all Key Learning Areas. The school plays an important role in the community through access to school facilities and programs.
