Bidwill Public School
Bidwill Public School is located in Mt Druitt, within the Blacktown local government area. Located in attractive and modern grounds the school is unique in that it has a preschool and shares the grounds and some facilities, including the canteen, hall and library, with Chifley College. As well as 17 mainstream classes and 3 preschool classes the school also has 2 support classes for students with moderate intellectual impairment and Autism. The school receives additional funding that supports programs to improve educational outcomes for all students. The students come from a range of cultural backgrounds, the main groups being Aboriginal and Pacific Islander. The school uses additional funding sources to employ community liaison officers from each community group to support students, cultural programs and family participation in the school. A playgroup for families with children below preschool age is also provided to facilitate community connections with the school.
