Sturt Public School
Sturt Public School is located in a suburb of Wagga Wagga. It is committed to providing students with opportunities to achieve their best across the curriculum. There is a strong focus on literacy and numeracy with high expectations for student achievement. Students are expected to function within the guidelines of the school's welfare policy based on the Australian Government's values framework. Creative Arts is where students excel at Sturt. Opportunities are also provided in sport and personal development. Sturt Public School's motto is: 'Strive to Achieve.' Programs that support this include:positive student welfare activities, anti bullying and values education lessons; boys and girls education strategies; reading recovery and learning support; weekly library lessons and regular access to the library;choir, dance, public speaking, verse speaking, robotics, recorder and instrumental groups and band.We also have interest groups in computers, chess, science, visual arts, coding and robotics. We have an Opportunity Class (OC) and gifted and talented programs. We value teacher professional learning and cooperative planning within stages. We have weekly computer lessons and students have regular access to computers.
