Queanbeyan East Public School is located near the border of NSW and the ACT. Our school is sited in a semi-rural setting with pleasant grounds featuring a shaded bush area, large grassy playing fields and views of the mountains. Queanbeyan East Public School prides itself on providing strong academic and welfare programs to a supportive school community. Our literacy programs at the school include L3 (Language, Learning, Literacy) for Kindergarten and Stage 1 and Focus On Reading for Stages 2 and 3. Our students also have the opportunity to be supported through the implementation of the Targetted Early Numeracy program or TEN. All students K-6 participate in learning the language of Japanese. The school offers a wide range of sporting and performing arts activities and achieves excellence in literacy, numeracy, creative arts and sport. The school is well-resourced and has an established library. We have a computer room which is able to cater for whole-class instruction as well as classroom computers. Interactive whiteboards are installed in classrooms, supporting our emphasis on the use of technology in teaching and learning. Students have the opportunity to participate in Robotics.
