Toongabbie West Public School

Toongabbie West Public School was opened in 1967 and includes a Support Unit (Hearing) which is integrated into many aspects of school life. The school prides itself in being a caring and welcoming community school offering a wide range of opportunities for all students in a small school environment. The school's primary purpose has been to instil the values held by the wider community and provide a broad balanced curriculum to meet the needs of our diverse students. The school offers an effective partnership between home and school as a learning community committed to providing quality teaching and learning for students. The school's strategic direction has been informed by a range of inputs including student learning outcome data and parent input through the Parents and Citizens Association and School Council. The school priorities include strong foundation skills through quality literacy and numeracy programs, the implementation of Positive Behaviour for Learning and embedding technology in learning through innovative programs and interactive whiteboards. The school also offers a broad range of extra curricular activities including dance, choir, debating and interschool sport.
