Charlestown South Public School has high educational expectations and believes every child can be a high achiever. This was reflected in our most recent NAPLAN results in Year 3 which realised 86% in the very Top 2 Bands for Reading and 83% for Numeracy. Charlestown South Public School acknowledges individual differences while promoting harmony and mutual respect. The school provides an opportunity for all students to feel safe, enjoy success and recognition, make a useful contribution to school life and derive enjoyment from their learning. The school has an intimate working relationship between the students, parents and teachers which is always a priority and of prime importance in determining a child's educational, social, emotional and lifelong success. The incredibly warm family atmosphere that comes with a school of just in excess of 230 students, ensures that every student and every teacher know each other by name. This is amazingly advantageous to every child giving them an immediate sense of great worth and value. At Charlestown South Public School the belief is that every child matters every day with every staff member focusing on caring for, valuing and knowing every child. The school's mission is to inspire lifelong learners and to empower all students to become innovative, creative, intellectually curious and socially responsible citizens, who are prepared for and can respond to the demands and opportunities of the 21st century.
