Gwandalan Public School
Gwandalan Public School is situated at the southern end of Lake Macquarie, servicing the Summerland Point and Gwandalan communities. The school enrolment for 2018 was 380 students. Staff are well trained and committed to improving student opportunities and outcomes across the six key learning areas. The school currently has 12% Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island students. Gwandland P.S. has modern buildings, covered walkways, genorous playgrounds that provide a fantastic learning environment. Creative Arts and Sport are strongly supported by school programs. Positive Behaviour for Learning is well embedded at Gwandalan PS where students focus on values and explicitly taught school expectations. The school is supported by an enthusiastic and hard working Parents and Citizens and business community.The annual fete is a major fundraiser and opportunity to promote the school to its community and beyond. Point Wolstoncroft Sport & Recreation Camp facilities are accessed regularly for sport, swimming and end of year student and staff functions. All staff are trained in well researched literacy and numeracy programs. The school is support by the Out Of School Hours (OOSH) centre, which is in the school hall.
