Wheeler Heights Public School

Wheeler Heights Public School is located in a beautiful and picturesque bushy environment on Collaroy Plateau, overlooking Narrabeen Lake. Our expansive grounds include a newly turfed oval, two tennis/basketball courts, two fixed play equipment areas, mulitple undercover areas and a natural environmental play area for the K-2 children. The school has two vegetable garden areas, actively recycles and has six school chickens producing eggs for our canteen. Our highly skilled and committed teaching staff work closely with parents to provide a wide range of opportunities for all students to achieve their 'Personal Best' in a safe, stimulating and happy school environment. The values of 'Respect' and 'Responsibility' underpin our school culture, and are reflected in our wide ranging achievements and positive school climate. At Wheeler Heights Public School there are many opportunities for students to experience leadership and success through our strong student leadership program, our 'buddy program' and the democratic decision making opportunities provided by the Student Representative Council. Students are happy and proud of their school, and demonstrate their willingness to participate in the wide range of educational opportunities offered to them. Academic results in all Key Learning Areas reflect high expectations and standards. The Wheeler Heights OOSH Centre offers excellent before and after school care, in addition to an active vacation childcare program. Wheeler Heights Public School is a member of the award-winning Peninsula Community of Schools, a partnership of thirteen local primary and secondary schools, with strong links and learning opportunities to Macquarie University. An involved and supportive parent community assists the school in providing extensive extra curricular programs such as band, dance, choir,chess and enrichment activities which enhance the educational opportunities at Wheeler Heights Public School.
