The school is a safe and happy environment for its students, teachers and visitors where the buzz and excitement of learning is always in evidence for both students and teachers.It is one of the school's major aims that students leaving Darcy Road PS will be literate and numerate and creators and users of knowledge. They will have a sense of democracy, social justice, ecological responsiblity and be committed to life long learning.Our students are provided an exciting learning curriculum by highly trained and professional groups of teachers who represent a wonderful blend of youth, energy and experience. All of our teachers employ a diverse range of teaching and learning strategies which engage students and accommodate different intelligences which exemplify our deep understanding of best practice in primary education.Individual learning rates and abilities are enhanced in a differentiated and integrated curriculum without compromising the all important social and emotional needs which are best served within our multi-ability classrooms.

Upgrade: Darcy Road Public School upgrade

As part of the NSW Government's plan to rebuild essential services, the 2023-24 Budget is delivering a record $8.8 billion for new and upgraded schools. This targeted investment in growing communities will ensure working families get access to a world class public education. The upgrade of Darcy Road Public School will include additional permanent learning spaces and core facilities to support the growing population in Western Sydney. Further updates regarding the Darcy Road Public School upgrade will be released as the project progresses.

Maintenance

To ensure the safety, reliability and longevity of our schools, every school across NSW receives maintenance. The Department undertakes preventative and routine maintenance every year, and repairs as needed. The Department also reviews the planned maintenance program for each school every year and reviews those items that are predicted to require work to help prolong the life of the school buildings and facilities.

Demountables

Demountables have been part of the NSW education system for many decades and will continue to be used across the state. Demountable classrooms are modern, air-conditioned rooms that provide students and teaching staff with excellent quality facilities. The learning spaces have the same range of technology that is available in permanent spaces. We review school accommodation needs each year, looking at changing enrolment patterns and other factors to prepare for the upcoming school year. This helps to identify schools that need new demountables and schools where they can removed. Most demountable movement takes place between October and February and we report our annual demountable statistics each April. Additional demountable installations can occur outside this window to support capital works and maintenance projects in schools or emergency responses to natural disasters.
