Glendale East Public School
At Glendale East Our Mission is to provide quality educational experiences to engender the values of excellence, citizenship and lifelong learning. The core values of the school are care and respect of oneself, others and the environment, responsibility, integrity and the pursuit of excellence. The school achieves its mission by providing well-balanced, stimulating and challenging programs and has been recognised as a leader in Values Education and Environmental Education. We have received National Literacy and Numeracy Week awards in both literacy and numeracy, and have presented our journey into Values education at national, interstate and regional levels and our work in literacy, Aboriginal Education and environmental education on a state level. The school has won numerous environmental awards on a state, regional and city level and its programs have featured in Side by Side and in local and Sydney newspapers. We have been commended in State Parliament on two separate occasions, for values education and for our work in building community through our environmental programs. Our school also provides opportunities for our students to excel in both sports and performing arts.
We recognise the Ongoing Custodians of the lands and waterways where we work and live. We pay respect to Elders past and present as ongoing teachers of knowledge, songlines and stories. We strive to ensure every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learner in NSW achieves their potential through education.
