St Marys North Public School is a friendly, calm, warm and welcoming community that holds high expectations of achievement and success. The school provides quality education and genuine care for our students and the wider school community. Parents, staff and students work in partnership to achieve a cohesive, focused, optimal learning environment that provides enhanced educational opportunities for all students. Key priorities include literacy, numeracy and student welbeing which are addressed in a supportive, technology rich, learning environment. Participation in sport, dance, music, student leadership and environmental education is actively encouraged. The involvement of our highly motivated Aboriginal community is supported by our Aboriginal Education Officer. All students, including our 22% identified Aboriginal students, participate in a comprehensive Aboriginal Cultural learning program. With over 20% of the school population from language backgrounds other than English, the school maintains an inclusive, harmonious, multi-cultural learning and working environment. We expect high standards of behaviour, application and integrity of each child and feature strong welfare programs to ensure that St Marys North PS is a safe and respectful place of learning. Our key strategic directions for the next three years include: Successful Engaged Learners, Inspired Teaching and Productive Partnerships. Through these future focussed direction,s our school envisages the development of confident, creative, critical, problem-solving, successful learners who will develop the resilience and independence to pursue their potential as lifelong learners, leaders and global citizens.
