This school’s intake area has changed
As communities grow and change, the department sometimes needs to adjust local enrolment intake areas. These changes help keep enrolments balanced across schools and make sure every student can access high-quality public education in well-resourced, supportive learning environments.
Due to housing development at Cameron Grove Estate, Edgeworth, some addresses previously assigned to Barnsley Public School have been redesignated to Edgeworth Heights Public School.

I have a child already attending this school. Can they stay there if I am now in a different school’s intake area?
Yes, they can. There is no change for students already attending this school.
I have a child already attending this school. Can I enrol their sibling/s at the same school?
Siblings of currently enrolled students will be assessed under the department's enrolment policy .
Families with a child currently enrolled at their assigned local school will retain the ability to enrol siblings at the same school, even if there are changes to the intake area boundaries that make their home address out-of-area.
How are new intake areas developed?
Many factors are considered to inform the development of new intake areas, for example:
- enrolment trends
- opportunities to align with primary school local intake areas
- public transport access
- the size and utilisation rate of schools
- the number of students living in each proposed intake area
- and the physical capacity of schools to enrol students
