Tower Street Public School

Tower Street Public School is a small school located in Panania. Our school is welcoming and friendly and we work in close partnership with parents and the wider community. We encourage parents to be active participants in school activities and we value their input into their child's education. Our school community strongly supports our student welfare program. Our regulations are agreed to by our students and parent body and based on respect for the individual and for others. As a result, our caring and harmonious environment enables students to learn and to develop personally, socially and academically. The culture of the school is very positive and we strive 'By Effort' to give every child the best education. Literacy and numeracy skills of our students are developed across all key learning areas and children's progress is carefully monitored through regular assessments. In both literacy and numeracy, quality support programs and specialist teaching staff are available to assist students experiencing difficulties. Students have many opportunities to excel in different areas of the curriculum. The core values of the school are embedded in all aspects of our curriculum and students and parents are very aware of the importance of these values. Everyone is encouraged and rewarded for displaying these values each day. There is strong support from parents and staff for the wearing of a school uniform. We believe it promotes school pride and encourages the students to feel part of a cohesive and supportive community. Staff are very committed to quality teaching and learning programs and are also committed to providing many extra-curricular activities. These include a broad range of opportunities in performing arts, sport, visual arts and gifted and talented programs. We have achieved an outstanding record with our 29 years involvement in the Schools Spectacular. The success of all students is acknowledged every year at our Annual Presentation Day where each child receives a ribbon in recognition of their efforts in one of the curriculum areas.
